Welcome to Paradise! When you move to our beautiful city you will come to expect our magnificent sunsets, fantastic restaurants, nature parks, 400 miles of canals and tropical weather.
Just about all of us who live and work here were once visitors, too. However, a short stay here will show you why our city is growing every year. It is a great place to live and work.
Cape Coral has a whole bunch going on. In January we have the Festival of the Arts where artists and artisans from around the world are featured in a weekend event. If you are athletic, then perhaps you would prefer the Tour de Cape. Every year cyclists from around the country descend on Cape Coral to take part in rides around the city.
In February we typically have an annual “Burrowing Owl Festival” and a “Cape Bike Night”. What is a burrowing Owl? It is a small bird that lives underground and nests throughout the city. Cape Coral hosts the largest population in the state. By bike night we mean for motorcycle enthusiasts. There are live bands, great food, and fun.
In March, the City of Cape Coral sponsors a, “Celebrate Cape Coral Block Party” and the city’s largest parade. We kick off a month-long celebration promoting all the special events that are held during the March, considered to be the peak of the winter season.
Spring brings us to, “Sounds of Jazz & Blues” located on the river in Jaycee Park, and “Cinco de Mayo”, a downtown celebration featuring Mariachi music food, and crafts.
The City of Cape Coral sponsors a, “Red, White, and Boom!” celebration on July 4th. We actually close one of the bridges to our city so, that all the residents and guests can enjoy the Fireworks, Food, and Fun!
During the summer months and weekends the other times of the year, our residents and guests enjoy our city ran Water Park called, “Sunsplash.”
We also have a monthly “Sunset Celebration” down at the Yacht Club. There is music, vendors, or just enjoy the sunset. Oh, and don’t forget to visit the Farmer’s Market, every other Saturday.
Our other amenities include a public Golf course (and several private ones), a Dog Park, and several public boat launches scattered throughout the city.
December brings us the, “Holiday Festival of Lights”, where again we have live entertainment, vendors, and a tree lighting celebration. Also in December we have a Cape Coral Holiday Boat-A-Long. Cape Coral boaters get into the holiday spirit each year because they extravagantly decorate their boats and then “Parade” through the canals and waterways. This event draws both boaters and landlubbers.
It’s OK if you are new, most all of us were at one time! We have a well established, “Newcomer’s Club”, where you can meet friends and share interests. So, you see, Cape Coral, it’s just Paradise.
