Lots of clients want to know how a Hurricane affects real estate.  We have had three Hurricanes in the 22 years I have lived here.  Two were category 4.  Most buildings are built to tough building codes and survive during a hurricane.  We tend to lose lanais and old roofs that are in the storm path and we face the risk of “flooding” to our homes.  Thus, flood insurance is required for about half the Cape.  Long term, the hurricane does not affect real estate sales.  Short term it might delay some sales in closing and delay buyers that still wish to buy here.  I am blessed.   I have two clients coming in next week to purchase real estate.  Overall, we are a strong sales market and weather most STORMS.  Judy  Ramage  ReMax Realty Partners
